Professor Jenny Fleming
Professor Jenny Fleming joined the University of Southampton as Professor of Criminology in 2012 and is also the Southampton lead for the new, What Works Centre for Crime Reduction. Professor Fleming completed her PhD at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia in 1998 and was awarded a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education in 2002. From 2000-2002, she was a Senior Research Fellow with the Key Centre for Law, Justice Ethics and Governance in Brisbane, Australia. As a Fellow at the Australian National University (Canberra, ACT), Professor Fleming was the chief coordinator of an Australian Research Council funded project, Policing in the 21st Century with the Australian Federal Police (2003-2006). From 2006-2011, she was first Research Professor and then Director of the Tasmanian Institute of Law Enforcement Studies at the University of Tasmania.
